would anyone believe that this is actually the journal that i have that ive kept writing in consistently in my life??

things are going pretty good right now. the semester is wrapping up, thank god. this has been a great semester, but its just been so busy. both shows took a lot out of me. but ive giving myself a full week to reduperate before going back into work, but i actually really dont want to do. not work in general. i just dont wanna go back to smokey bones. i dont really like it there. i applied for a job at fridays, cuz john said that they were hiring, and if i put him as a reference then there would be a good chance of me at least getting an interview, but i still havent heard anything. im gonna call then today and check in. all i know is i gotta get back to work somewhere soon if i hope to have the money to go to canada again this year. ill work it out. worst case scenario?? i ask my mom and dad to each pay half of the trip as my birthday gift. its not an expensive trip, so i think mom would be cool with it. dad... well, we know dad.

speaking of, not too long ago, shane and i went and had dinner over there. he was freaking out a little cuz we were supposed to eat at a restaurant, but dad wanted to cook, so he changed last minute. shane didnt like the idea of spending time with my father on his turf, but i dragged him there and it was actually fine. shane and i made fun of melissa the whole car ride afterwards. the highlight of my evening that night.

im upset with studio rep right now. they asked steve to sm on their show thats going up in the next month or so. i dont really know why. well, i dont know why they didnt ask me. i didnt even know the show was going up, and im supposed to be on their board?? ive been playing phone tag with anthony, cuz id like to talk to him, but, ideally, id like to talk to everyone at once and work out what is going on between myself and the company, because, right now, i feel like im being shat on and used. not a good feeling. i know that im not immediately available like everyone else is, but they were the people who asked me to be a part of their company, and ive enjoyed working with them, and i dont like the idea of not being involved. plus, now, what steve has told me is that they want me to work as an asm or crew member or light/sound board op. im sorry, and i dont want to sound like a pompous ass, but im more lightyears more qualified than steve for the sm position, and they want me to work for him?? i dont think i couild do it. i feel like id be standing by watching for the train wreck to happen. nothing against steve, really, its just i dont think he knows what hes getting himself into have no experience. its a tough job. ask uri theatre sm that you know. theyll tell you. the whole situation is very frustrating.

i guess i lied. things arent as pretty good as i thought. writing out that last paragraph made me feel very upset. and i jsut dont really know what to do about it. any thoughts??

i guess to one thing that is really good right now is shane. not gonna say its perfect (cuz it isnt, but nothing is), but things are going really well right now, i think. i wasnt sure he and i would survive the school year, but here we are, year drawing to a close, and no real end in sight. itll be a year in a little over a month. screwy, huh?? me in a real relationship. he makes me so very happy. i just sometimes wish he would see that more. i know i can get down and be in a pissy-bitchy mood, but that happens to all of us. and he always assumes that im upset with him, or due to something that he couldve fixed and didnt, which is alwmost never the case. if i am upset with him, then, most of the time, i just tell him when we have a moment together (without steve lol), which doesnt always happen, so the expressing of my issues gets postpones, which makes me more upset, and him more confused and upset, so it can turn into a bigger deal than it is. but, with summer fast approaching, i know whatever problems may be there will heal. i wont be so stressed out, and we will see each other more, and plan the next vacation.

i could not possibly be more excited. i looked at the list as soon as i could, and freaked out completely. i couldnt breathe, i started shaking. i thought i was having an anxiety attack for a minute, but then i realized i was just overwhelmed with happy happy joy joy. this is the best day ever. im so excited. despite the fact that i still feel like shit, all sick and icky and such, nothing could bring my mood down. im so fricken happy. and i get to go see shane very very soon. and i get to go home and see my mommy and tell her all about it, cuz i havent seen her in forever. im a happy little camper right now. and i love it.

today is a very very bad day. ive ended up in a place where i told myself i wouldnt go, but havent had the will power to stay away from it. tomorrow is the actual one year anniversay of what happened, but today too much resembles the way it happened: in tech all weekend, going to be in fine arts until 11 at least tonight, and im supposed to go back to a scary little dorm bed and be expected to sleep. not fucking gonna happen, ill tell you that. i kinda feel like curling up into a ball and just staying there. more than anything, i feel like just leaving and going to shanes and laying in his bed. i feel safer there than i do almost anywhere else. i just tried calling him, but he didnt answer. i dont know why, i would love to talk to him right now. or joe. or elyssa. or eva and laura. i dont know what i need to do. i feel like this shouldnt affect me as much as it does. im such a goddamn wimp. i hate myself a lot when i get like this. ive been doing so good, too. at least, i think ive been doing good.

so i get back into my room this morning wanting nothing more than to crawl back into bed an sleep for a few more hours, but there is a BLONDE sleeping there. WHAT THE FUCK. i kinda flipped out a little, in a very passive agressive way. i stomped around the room "picking stuff up" till she woke up (it didnt take long) and she looks at me and says "kate, im totally sorry im tottally sleeping, but do you totally mind that i just kinda passed out a little?? i was sick" (that is a direct quote, mind you, and the last few words were added as a last resort, very quickly, meant to be a pity party). keep in mind two things: this is not that first time she has "just passed out a little" for a whole night in my bed; and that she had a blanket with her. she came prepared with a blanket. in law, thats premeditation, bitch. i pointed these things out to her, and she left, all sweet and nice as candy. well, you wanna know what?? i know being blonde is not a good tihng, but it doesnt give your license to be an asshole. done with bitchy rant now.

in other news, gridina and i are going to see him again!!!!!!!!! ::does a little dance:: so excited. planning on being prepared this year, and not freezing our balls off (yea, i said it) while we are waiting after. i hope there are less sketchy guys trying to grope me this time...

the show is moving along nicely. i just wish i were doing more. the past two rehearsals, ive been assigned to run lines with actors the whole night. now, i understand that getting of book is a priority, but that is something that they can do at home. plus, i know not everyone benefits from it.

still hunting for a monologue for "urinetown" auditions. they are coming so soon!!! this semester is flying by.

i had a really crappy day yesterday. lost cigarettes (or they were stoled... not sure which), bad acting class, tedious time at work, and a fucking flat tire, plus dinner with my dad and his son, my half brother, who seemed to have no idea who i was. all in all, by the time dinner was over, i was feeling really shitty. but, shane saved my day. when i got to his house, i walk in and he says "i got you a present" and holds up a brand new copy of "charlie and the chocolate factory" on dvd for me. it completely made my day. and we hung around with the rat for a while, and then got to go to sleep. it amazes me how much just the presence of someone you care about laying next to you makes everything seem ok.

and, lastly, i put the final touches on my class schedule for next semester this morning:

voice and movement, mondays
acting, tuesday and thursdays
theatre history, tuesdays and thursdays
stage combat, tuesdays and thursdays
behavioral problems in psychology, tuesdays and thursday
the renaissance (sp???), mondays and wednesdays
plus THE 300 credit for ASMing on "Angels"

this scehdule means two things: tuesdays and thursdays suck a little bit, and I HAVE NO CLASSES ON FRIDAYS!!! i had to rearranges a bunch of stuff to make it work, but i did. i dont know what ill do with myself. i also realized that helen and i signed up for the same history class haphazardly. wicked nice. and, while i was looking through that stupid little grey book that they gave us at orientation with all the gen ed tracking it it, i noticed that, after next semester, ill only need 4 more gen eds: 2 foreign language, a fine arts, and a natural science. i thought i was way behind. but, again, wicked nice.

ive had the most spectacular few days ever.

sunday i woke up next to shane, which is a wonderful way to start the day even if we did wake up later than we planned. we went and met the rat for coffee and kinda sorta food. then i went home, did some stuff for my mom, talked to her about getting my new phone (finally). then shane came and picked harry and i up to go play the football with the big boys. so.much.fun. i started getting really upset that i wasnt getting the play time i felt i deserved so i started getting really agressive, and was proud of my performance after that. at the end of the game, i even got to demonstrate my skills as a QB and was commended in them. yay for chicks who can keep up with the boys. after that i went home to shower and all that jazz, thinking that i was gonna go see a movie with my mom relatively early, and then go to shanes for the night. however, mom bailed on me, that beeotch, so instead i hooked up with shane and the rat earlier than id planned, and we went to shanes dads and hung out, let shane beat me in chess. back to shanes to go to bed.

yesterday got off to a slow start, cuz i woke up feeling really tired, and kinda sore from football. plus i realized that pulled out my shoulder and shane pulled a hamstring or a glute or something, so he was hurting prety bad and i felt awful. bought him icy hot. anyway, drove up to campus, got off to an early start, walked to fine arts about an hour before i needed to be there for class, then went to class and realized that we didnt have the quiz i thoght we were having. went to costume and aced my test on the sewing machines that i didnt know we were having (not that its all that hard), went to shakespeare which didnt suck nearly as much as it usually does. had time to go back to my room and talk to shane on the phone a little bit. changed for voice and movement and, in changing, put together an outfit that i lookeda t myself in at honestly thought "damn!! i look really cute" for the first time ever. wicked confidence boost. did core massages in voice and movement, which was really interesting. when joe did mine (correctly) i think i really felt something that could prove usefull in trying to tap into my gut when im working. after that, hung around a little bot till psych at 7. in psych, i managed to get myself out of doing a presentation. instead, i just need to do an article summary now. yay for missing class cuz of shows!!!! after that got in my car, went back to shanes to stay over, cuz i wont see him for a couple days now cuz of rehearsals. that makes my day any day, when the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last thing you think about when you go to bed is right there with you. its a beautiful thing. ive never experience such happiness that i wanted to cry before.

today, woke up early with now kinks ::knock wood:: came to school, headed strasight to fine arts to start my 15 hour day that went: monologue work, scene shop slaving, acting where we had an awesome workshop with the guy whos playing timone in the lion king at ppac right now, did some scene work with ama, sam gave me money so i could get some much needed caffeine and food, production meeting, rehearsal which actually went pretty well despite the ridiculous schedule and had a very long conversation with john that i never really saw coming. its amazing how good some people are at really listening to you, and wanting to understand where you come from.

all in all, wonderful couple of days. only downside is knowing i hafta go most of this week without seeing shane. that hurts a little. but i will trudge on. im also having dinner with my dad again on thursday. eek. i think thisll be another long week.
